Innovation is one of the core principles for Mafin. This is why investments in R&D are constant and a new R&D centre was opened in 2022.

For Mafin, research and development is a key business area for the generation of sustainable value.

A capacity for innovation that is unique in its sector, enabling it to offer its customers over seventy years of experience in extrusion technology.

Over the years, research and development projects have been increasingly focused on making our pellets better for the health: we have undertaken projects to reduce the amount of salt, the amount of oil absorbed, including through the development of products that do not need to be fried in order to be consumed.

Products with a higher plant protein and fibre content than traditional snacks have been developed using pulses. “

MAFIN does not make use of chemicals in its recipes. The use of synthetic ingredients, used as colouring agents in certain types of products, in the last five years has been replaced by the use of ingredients of natural origin, thus enabling our customers to adopt the so-called “clean label” on their products.
